It might not feel like it right now but when Liverpool return to action their fans will have plenty to look forward to.
Defeats to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League last-16 and Newcastle in the Carabao Cup final have led to plenty of introspection on Merseyside, but Arne Slot's first season at the helm still promises to be a remarkable one if the Reds can get over the line and win the Premier League, where they currently boast a healthy 12-point lead.

A second league title in five years would be a remarkable achievement for Slot after the Reds went 30 years without winning one before Jurgen Klopp's success in 2020, but the Slot will have to navigate some of the final nine matches without some key players.
Liverpool were confident that Alexander-Arnold didn't sustain a serious problem, with Slot saying that he is expected to return to the fold before the end of the season.
Injury: Ankle/foot.
Return date: Unknown, hopefully late April

After an impressive run in the team throughout December came to an end with a hamstring injury at West Ham in Liverpool's final match of 2024, it has been a hugely frustrating 2025 for Gomez.
The defender managed just 11 minutes when captaining the team on his return at Plymouth in February, only to suffer a recurrence of the problem which Slot says will keep him out until "just before" the end of the season.
Injury: Hamstring.
Return date: May
As tends to be the way when your luck is out, Liverpool are currently without three players who can all play in the same position, and Bradley's influence going forward was sorely missed in the absence of Alexander-Arnold at Wembley.
The Northern Irishman has been missing since limping off in the 2-2 draw at Aston Villa on February 19, and his international manager Michael O'Neil says he doesn't expect an imminent return after that, so it could be the middle of next month before he's seen again.
Injury: Hamstring.
