Liverpool are moving closer to the start of the new Premier League campaign as pre-season continues.

No new signings have been made by Liverpool so far this summer, but there is still plenty of time for that to change before the deadline on September 2.

The ECHO has put together some of the latest Liverpool transfer rumours that have been doing the rounds online and across social media over the last 24 hours.

Liverpool are being linked with a move for Borussia Dortmund forward Donyell Malen.

Reports earlier this summer first linked the Reds with a potential swoop for the Netherlands international and now an update has emerged.

According to Caught Offside, Liverpool will face competition from Arsenal for the signing of Malen this summer, who the Dutchman left to sign for PSV in 2018 after coming through the youth ranks at the Emirates Stadium.

It has been claimed that Malen has a release clause worth £34million (€40m) which both the Reds and the Gunners are considering activating.

However, it has been claimed that Malen would favour a move to Arsenal over Liverpool if both clubs made an offer.
