Liverpool have been named as one of the club’s interested in one of Germany’s most-prized assets.
After two relatively quiet transfer windows, the Reds are expected to be very active in the summer transfer window.
Apart from the likely sale of some of their current stars, it is thought that Liverpool will strengthen in the summer.
Head coach Arne Slot confirmed that last month, revealing that Liverpool’s plan to remain at a top level will necessitate the addition of reinforcements.
Defence is an area Liverpool are expected to reinforce, and Bournmeouth’s duo Milos Kerkez Dean and Dean Huijsen have been named as possible targets.
Ajax youngster Jorrel Hato is another player linked as a possible addition this summer.
Elsewhere, Darwin Nunez is likely to leave the club this summer, so attacking reinforcements will be needed.
Several names have been propped as Liverpool targets, with Newcastle’s Alexander Isak perhaps being the most exciting.
The Swedish international is in the form of his life and will certainly improve Liverpool.
Isak will not come cheap, though, and Liverpool may have to pay over £100m to land him.
With fans still wondering if the club will be willing to spend such an amount on Isak, Arne Slot’s side have now been linked with another expensive name in Germany.
Liverpool linked with Bundesliga attacker
Liverpool have been named as one of the clubs keen on signing Bayer Leverkusen star Florian Wirtz.
Daily Mail reports that Manchester City, Real Madrid, and Liverpool are monitoring the exciting 21-year-old attacker.
“Leverkusen coach Xabi Alonso has been touted as a possible successor to Carlo Ancelotti at Real Madrid this summer.
Los Blancos are another club £ Wirtz, as are Liverpool, but Jude Bellingham is well established in that role in the Spanish capital,” the report said.
This is not the first time Wirtz has been linked with a move to Anfield.
Last summer, chief BILD reporter Christian Falk asserted that Wirtz is keen to move on from Bayer Leverkusen in 2025, with Liverpool one of his likely destinations.
Falk also confirmed that Bayer Leverkusen have slapped a €150m price tag on the player, who had 18 goals and 14 assists across all competitions last season.
“Florian Wirtz made it very clear that he wants to make the next step in 2025,” the BILD reporter wrote.
“He has a contract now until 2027, so Leverkusen want a big fee for his services – €150m.
That’s a lot and obviously not every club can afford to pay this.”
The 2003-born attacker has continued to be important for Xabi Alonso’s side this season?
He has scored 15 goals and registered 13 assists in all competitions this season.
