Liverpool have reportedly continued to monitor one of Spain’s most impressive youngsters this season.

Arne Slot’s side are currently enjoying a stellar season, sitting atop the Premier League table with an impressive record of 20 wins, seven draws, and just one loss.

However, beneath the surface of this success, a sense of discontent is simmering amongst the fanbase online.

Memories of last season’s collapse due to injuries have left fans wary.

But Liverpool manager Arne Slot has been vocal about being happy with the state of the squad and assured that the club is working at strengthening in the summer.

The Reds are already making plans for summer recruitment after spending little money in the last two transfer windows.

According to the latest report, Liverpool have serious interest in one of Spain’s rising stars.

The Daily Mail claims that the Reds are monitoring Real Betis winger Jesus Rodriguez.

The 19-year-old has caught the eye of elite scouts this season after being introduced into Manuel Pellegrini’s first team in October.

We reported earlier that the Reds scouts to watch Rodriguez in view of a potential summer transfer.

However, the latest report adds that Liverpool could lose out on the youngster, as Premier League rivals Chelsea are making serious attempts to sign the youngster.

“Chelsea have stepped up interest as the Betis winger is drawing attention from other top clubs, including the likes of Liverpool, who have been monitoring his progress,” the report said.

The report also revealed that Rodriguez, who was part of Spain’s triumphant U19 European Championship winning squad last year, has a release clause worth up to £42million.

Liverpool has a history of scouting talent from Seville’s two major clubs, as evidenced by past signings of Antonio Barragan, Dani Pacheco, Suso, and Luis Alberto, who all had ties to Real Betis or Sevilla.

The teenager is fast, skilful, and strong, and Real Betis coach Manuel Pellegrini has used him effectively to stretch defences.
