Liverpool could reap the rewards of signing an exciting young player who has been likened to former Reds ace Philippe Coutinho.
The versatile forward has already received the approval of former Liverpool defender Dietmar Hamann, who says the Dutchman reminds him of Coutinho.
"I'd say he is a similar player to Philippe Coutinho, which makes you think about how he left the club, but Simons is ready to play for a big club," said Hamann.
Liverpool don't have a creator like him, it's probably something they lack."
A move for Simons would make perfect sense for the Reds, with the forward having come on leaps and bounds over the last few years.
It means Liverpool would have the option to make a significant profit through a sale, as they did with Coutinho back in 2018.
Alternatively, Simons could stay and establish himself as a modern-day legend if he becomes a key player for Liverpool.
Both options would be good for the Reds, making it a win-win situation.
It would be something of a gamble, given that Simons is still relatively young and untested in the Premier League.
However, there is a possibility that it could pay dividends for Liverpool if they decide to firm up their reported interest.
They are unlikely to be the only club with a desire to bring the player to England, though.
