Having been part of the England side that won the U17 World Cup in 2017 - where he scored in the final and played alongside the likes of Phil Foden and Jadon Sancho - the forward looked to be closing in on a place in the Reds’ first-team following a successful loan spell at Swansea during the 2019/20 season.
In October 2020 though, Brewster made a surprise exit as he joined Sheffield United in a deal described by the Yorkshire club at the time as a club record fee.
Since joining the Blades in 2020, he has made 105 appearances, but scored just seven goals.
Now aged 24, Brewster’s contract is set to expire at the end of the season, although Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder has revealed the former Liverpool star is in talks with the club.
“We're in discussions with Rhian and his representatives,” Wilder said (via The Sheffield Star).
