Bajcetic is the most high-profile loanee having reunited with former Liverpool assistant boss Pep Lijnders in Austria in an effort to get back up to speed having missed the best part of a year through injury.

However, matters have not gone to plan for the 19-year-old, with Salzburg having started the Champions League opening stage with heavy defeats to Sparta Prague and Brest before, in their most recent domestic game, being thumped 5-0 by champions Sturm Graz.

It has prompted reports Bajcetic's team-mates aren't happy with his arrival and apparent favouritism from Lijnders towards the player.

The next few months will be a test of the teenager's resolve.

Kaide Gordon (Norwich City)

Gordon is another player whose progress after making his Liverpool first team bow - in his case, way back in September 2021 - has been hampered by a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

Having only last week turned 20, the winger began to outgrow the under-21 towards the end of last season and, while used from the bench so far at Norwich, has already started making an impact in the Championship.

Indeed, he netted his first goal for the Canaries within minutes of being introduced in the 4-0 win over Hull City last weekend.

Ben Doak (Middlesbrough)

Doak was given minutes by Slot during the summer before it was determined his development would be better served from a loan move after missing large parts of last season through injury.

The 18-year-old winger began on the bench with Boro in the Championship but has started the last three games and scored his first senior goal in a win over Stoke City last month.

And his form has been sufficient to earn a call-up to the Scotland squad for their forthcoming UEFA Nations League games against Croatia and Portugal.

Lewis Koumas (Stoke City)

Koumas raced through the ranks at Liverpool in recent years and was on the bench for the League Cup final win over Chelsea before scoring on his debut in the FA Cup win against Southampton a few days later.

The 19-year-old has started nine games already this season and has scored in the Championship against West Bromwich Albion and in the League Cup against Middlesbrough.

And he could have another chance to net against Southampton with Stoke travelling to the Premier League side in the League Cup fourth round later this month.

Owen Beck (Blackburn Rovers)

Beck, now 22, has had previous extensive loan experience and was being touted for a possible permanent exit in the summer before making a temporary switch to Ewood Park.

The left-back was thrown straight into the starting line-up in the Championship and kept his place before being given a three-match suspension for a late red card in the Lancashire derby at Preston North End last month.

However, the game was more notable for Beck being bitten by Milutin Osmajic in the ensuing melee, with the Preston man subsequently being handed an eight-game ban.

Calum Scanlon (Millwall)

Scanlon made his senior bow for Liverpool last season but saw much of the campaign affected by injury with the U21s.

And after making his Championship debut for Millwall with an 11-minute outing from the bench against Luton Town in September, a stress fracture of the back was diagnosed.

The 19-year-old left-back is now back with Liverpool undergoing treatment and is unlikely to feature again before December.

Nat Phillips (Derby County)

The magical mystery tour of Phillips continues with a fifth loan spell away from Liverpool.

The 27-year-old, though, hasn't yet been given much opportunity in the Championship this season, with just one start to go with three substitute appearances.

Calvin Ramsay (Wigan Athletic)

Injury and lack of form and fitness meant the 21-year-old right-back barely featured during loan spells at Bolton Wanderers and Preston North End last term.

And he has already been in and out of the Wigan team, making one League One start and another in the League Cup, along with four substitute appearances.

Luke Chambers (Wigan Athletic)

By contrast to Ramsay, 20-year-old left-back Chambers has been a virtual ever-present, playing all bar one half of Wigan's 10 league games as well as an outing in the League Cup.

Chambers scored a fantastic free-kick in the 4-0 win at Bristol Rovers with Wigan having kept a sixth consecutive clean sheet in the goalless draw at Stockport County at the weekend that was attended by his former Liverpool team-mate Thiago Alcantara.

Rhys Williams (Morecambe)

The 23-year-old centre-back only made 19 starts over four loan moves over the previous three seasons.

Unlike the remainder of Liverpool's loanees, Williams is due to return to the club in January.

Luca Stephenson (Dundee United)

The versatile 21-year-old caught the eye during pre-season as a right-back under Slot, but has started every game for the Scottish Premiership side on the right side of midfield.

Stephenson scored on his league debut against St Johnstone and responded to giving away a decisive injury-time penalty in a League Cup defeat at Motherwell by contributing two assists in a 3-3 draw at Kilmarnock the following week, the latter when winning a spot kick in additional time.

Marcelo Pitaluga (Livingston)

The 21-year-old Brazilian goalkeeper is spending the season at the Scottish Championship side but has been confined to bench duty thus far.

Fabian Mrozek (IF Brommapojkarna)

Another 21-year-old goalkeeper, the Pole started five games in the Allsvenskan - the Swedish top flight - but has been on the bench since the start of September.
