Arne Slot makes two changes for the Liverpool team that hosts Newcastle United in the Premier League tonight.

Curtis Jones and Andy Robertson drop out.

Diogo Jota returns to the starting line-up after sitting out Sunday's 2-0 win at Manchester City.



Slot confirmed the club were taking a cautious approach with the Portugal international's fitness after he went four months between Premier League starts with an upper body issue.

Jota leads the line with Luis Diaz down the left and top-scorer Mohamed Salah on the right.

Salah will be looking to add to his 30 goals recorded this season in all competitions.

Reds boss Slot has a number of options to turn to on the bench with Federico Chiesa, Darwin Nunez and Cody Gakpo all part of the contingent for the visit of the Magpies.

Kostas Tsimikas starts at left-back in place of Robertson as Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold retain their place from Sunday.

Jones is on the bench alongside fellow midfielders Wataru Endo and Harvey Elliott.

Alexander Isak, Newcastle's in-form striker who has registered 19 Premier League goals, misses out entirely with a groin issue this evening.

Title rivals Arsenal are hosted by third-place Nottingham Forest at 7.30pm at the City Ground.
