Ben Doak has been arguably Liverpool’s best loan player this season, with the winger’s form now catching the eye of AFC Bournemouth.
The Scotland international joined Middlesbrough last summer with Michael Carrick’s side proving to be an ideal destination for Doak, with the winger taking to the Riverside club like a duck to water and quickly becoming a key player.
With Doak recently lauded as a ‘creative force’ for Middlesbrough in the Championship, it’s no real surprise that Bournemouth are now interested in the Liverpool youngster, who is quickly attracting some major attention from Premier League sides.
However, Liverpool will be making a big mistake if they allow Doak to leave this summer given how much potential the former Celtic wonderkid has locked away in his locker.

With ten goal contributions in 24 games for Middlesbrough this season, Doak has more than shown that he is on the right path to stardom, with the 19-year-old winger one of the breakout stars in the Championship this campaign.
However, having not played since late January, Doak has missed a good chunk of the season for Boro, with the winger expected to be back to full fitness this summer during Liverpool’s pre-season tour of Asia.
And as a result of Doak’s long-term injury, Liverpool have a readymade excuse as to why they can loan out the teenage attacker for a second season, especially with clubs like Bournemouth looking to sign the Scottish talent.

Indeed, Doak is simply too promising for Liverpool to be considering selling this summer, who Scotland fans lauded as ‘generational’ during the November international break in what has been the breakout season for the attacker.
Having already impressed in the English second-tier, the most logical step for Doak will be to join a Premier League side on loan, a move that could be possible with top-flight teams queuing up to sign the attacker on a permanent deal.
Of course, another option could be to loan Doak out to a side on the continent, with Liverpool potentially thinking that the winger’s development might be best served playing in the Bundesliga or Ligue 1 and not helping a Premier League side.
Whatever Liverpool decide to do, the underlying message should remain that Doak is not for sale, and the Reds will be wise to allow the Scotland international to leave Anfield again on loan having had such a disrupted 2025 due to injuries.
