Liverpool fans will be waking up happy this Monday morning after the Reds extended their Premier League lead to 11 points.
Arne Slot's team made light work of a Manchester City side shorn of the injured Erling Haaland.
Mohamed Salah and Dominik Szoboszlai combined for both goals in a 2-0 win, each ending the match with one goal and one assist.
The result brought Liverpool one step closer to the title, with Slot's men taking full advantage after rivals Arsenal dropped points on Saturday.
Have Liverpool got the league title in the bag(
We are very happy to have him, that's for sure."
Szoboszlai's reaction to chants
Dominik Szoboszlai didn't want to get ahead of himself with regards to Liverpool's title charge, claiming he didn't hear fans' "we're going to win the league" chants.
Liverpool can stay 11 points clear by matching Arsenal's result in midweek, but they're up against a Newcastle side who beat Nottingham Forest 4-3 on Sunday.
"I didn't hear it, I was so tired!" Szoboszlai said when asked about the chants.
It never ends so we have to keep calm and keep going and at the end hopefully, we will get there."
He added: "We played with two number 10s and they managed the game almost 90 per cent but at the end the result is for us and we are happy to take the three points home.
