Dean Huijsen twist

The race to sign Bournemouth defender Dean Huijsen this summer is 'wide open', according to Sky Sports, with Liverpool among seven clubs reportedly interested in the 20-year-old ahead of the summer transfer window.

The Spanish international has impressed with his performances for the Cherries.

Reports earlier this week suggested that Chelsea were leading the chase for his signature, but it appears other clubs are ready to challenge them.

Arsenal, Chelsea, Newcastle, Tottenham, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich are all reportedly eyeing up the player who has a $66.5 million (£50M) release clause in his contract.

Florian Plettenberg adds that this clause can be paid in three instalments, an option that could appeal to Premier League clubs, given the PSR considerations.

If Real Madrid were to make an official bid, it's reported that Huijsen would favour them.

However, the lure of Champions League football is also said to be a significant factor, something Liverpool can offer.
