Liverpool have announced the loan departure of another academy star.

The January transfer window officially shut on Monday, with the Reds bringing in no new signings?



This means that Arne Slot’s men have only signed two senior players over the last two transfer windows.



The result of their low spending in this period raises difficult questions about the club’s owners.

However there is a feeling that the Reds will spend big in the summer, especially with uncertainty over the future of some of their star players including Trent Alexander-Arnold and Mohamed Salah.

Although Liverpool failed to secure new signings, the club was busy on the loan front, sending out a few of the young players to gain meaningful first-team experience elsewhere.

The club has recorded some success in regards loans, with Ben Doak and Lewis Koumas two players currently headlining the Reds’ players enjoying successful loan spells.

Stefan Bajcetic, Kaido Gordon, Dominic Corness and Jayden Danns have all left on loan, with Liverpool now confirming another loan exit hours after the transfer window shut.

Liverpool confirm goalkeeper loan departure

The Athletic earlier reported that 21-year-old Liverpool goalkeeper Fabian Mrozek will be heading out on loan to National League side Forest Green for the rest of the season.

The club have now confirmed the news.

“Liverpool goalkeeper Fabian Mrozek has joined Forest Green Rovers on loan,” a club statement said.

“The 21-year-old will spend the remainder of the 2024-25 campaign with the National League outfit after completing a temporary switch.”

Mrozek, a Poland youth international, arrived at the Reds’ Academy set-up in August 2020 from FC Wroclaw.

He has been in Liverpool’s senior team’s matchday squad on six occasions and previously had a loan spell at Swedish side IF Brommapojkarna.

Born in 2003, the Polish international is a promising young goalkeeper who has been making steady progress in Liverpool’s ranks.

Mrozek’s journey to Anfield began in his hometown, where he played for MKS Kluczbork and the FC Wroclaw Academy.

His talent and potential caught the attention of Liverpool scouts, leading to his move to the club’s academy in August 2020,

Upon joining Liverpool, Mrozek quickly integrated into the U18 squad, making his debut during the 2020-21 season.

Mrozek’s development continued as he progressed through the ranks, eventually joining the U21 team.

During his time with Liverpool’s youth and reserve teams, he has trained alongside some of the first-team goalkeepers.

While Mrozek has primarily played in Liverpool’s youth teams, he has also been involved in first-team preparations and has been included in the matchday squad for several senior games, though he has yet to make his competitive debut for the first team.

The goalkeeper spent last season with Swedish Allsvenskan side IF Brommapojkarna.
