Liverpool are reportedly battling several clubs for the signing of Red Star Belgrade midfielder Andrija Maksimovic.
The Reds will have to wait until the January transfer window opens before they are able to make any new additions to their squad for the second half of the season.
The summer window saw Liverpool linked with a host of potential new signings.
However, the Reds only made one new addition with Federico Chiesa arriving from Juventus, while Giorgi Mamardashvili will not officially move to Anfield until next summer.

Reports emerging from Germany are claiming that Liverpool are interested in signing Maksimovic.
Sky Germany reporter Patrick Berger has claimed that the Reds are among a host of clubs looking to sign the 17-year-old from Red Star Belgrade.

The report claims that Borussia Dortmund are leading the race to sign the midfielder, although it has not been stated if this would be in January or next summer.
Liverpool are then mentioned as having an interest, but will also face competition from Manchester City and Juventus.
?
Maksimovic is contracted at Red Star until 2027 and is reported to have a price tag of €15 million (£12.5 million).
It has been stressed, though, that Liverpool and the other aforementioned clubs are yet to make an approach to the Serbian club about Maksimovic, but state that interest is definitely there.
This season has seen Maksimovic make 10 appearances for Red Star in all competitions, including one in the Champions League in a 4-0 defeat to inter Milan earlier this month.
