Liverpool are reportedly preparing to send in a €60m opening offer to sign one of Europe’s most promising teenagers.
Although the summer transfer window is still a few months away, the Reds continue to make concrete plans to strengthen the squad.
This is despite the success the team is enjoying under Arne Slot this season.
The Dutchman’s side are undoubtedly one of the best teams in Europe this season.
Although they narrowly crashed out of the UEFA Champions League in midweek, they are on course to win two trophies this season, beginning with the Carabao Cup on Sunday.
The Reds take on Newcastle in the final at Wembley, and the game offers Liverpool the opportunity to make it two successive Carabao Cup titles after winning the trophy under Jurgen Klopp last season.
They could wrap up the Premier League title next month after racing to a 15-point lead at the top of the table last weekend.
However, while the Reds are gunning for on-field success for the season, the club’s hierarchy are already making off-field moves to ensure the success continues beyond this season.
According to a report from Italy, Liverpool are planning to send in a €60m bid for Juventus starlet Kenan Y?ld?z.
The 19-year-old is one of Europe’s most sought-after teenagers and is wanted by Liverpool.
Sky Sports Germany confirmed the Reds’ interest late last year, and now Juvefc.com is reporting that the club are planning to register their interest with a €60m bid.
“Liverpool are determined to land Juventus teenager next summer, but their opening offer will fall below the asking price,” the report said.
“According to sources close to Juve FC, the Premier League runaway leaders sent scouts to monitor the talented teenager during the Bianconeri’s recent Serie A outings against Cagliari and Hellas Verona.
Yildiz was in the starting lineup on both occasions, which ended in victories for Thiago Motta’s men.
“These sources told Juve FC that the scouting reports returned positive, so Liverpool are now preparing to launch a summer onslaught for Yildiz, beginning with an opening bid worth €60 million.”
However, the report sensationally claims that Juventus will not do business unless Liverpool are willing to pay €100 million for the youngster.
“We can confirm that this figure (€60 million) won’t be enough to tempt Cristiano Giuntoli and company, who would only be willing to sit on the table and negotiate a sale if they were to receive a bid in the region of €100 million.
Standing at 1.87m, Yildiz is known for his versatility.
He made his senior international debut in November 2023, marking the occasion with a goal against Germany.
Y?ld?z is celebrated for his technical proficiency, pace, dribbling skills, and goal-scoring ability.
This term, he has racked up 41 appearances in all competitions, contributing with six goals and four assists.
