Liverpool FC has released important information to fans who will attend the game against Southampton this weekend.
The Reds will host Southampton at Anfield in the Premier League on Saturday (March 8), 3pm GMT kick-off.
The game offers Liverpool the chance to take a step closer to their 20th league title.
Arne Slot’s side sit 13 points ahead of their closest rival, Arsenal, albeit with a game more than their rivals.
They face a Southampton side sitting at the bottom of the table with just nine points to their name.
The Saints are almost certain to be relegated, being that they sit a massive 13 points adrift of safety.
This means that their season’s aspirations might well be to surpass the lowest points haul in Premier League history, set by Derby in 2007/08 (11).
Liverpool will fancy their chances of getting a good result here, having won all the last seven meetings against the Saints at Anfield by an aggregate score of 22-1.
Ahead of the game, the club have released important information for fans who will be visiting Anfield.
In a statement posted on the club’s official website, Liverpool confirmed that there will be major roadworks around Anfield due to ongoing construction works.
“Liverpool City Council’s highways and improvement programme has shut Priory Road for eight months while a new drainage system, new pedestrian crossing near the crematorium, and new footways and carriageway reconstructions are put in place.
“The work will be carried out in four phases and started in October between the junctions of Utting Avenue and Walton Lane.
“Diversions are in place while the work is ongoing, which could impact your journey time to and from Anfield on Sunday.
If you have allocated parking on Stanley Car Park you can now access from either end of Priory Road, but it is down to one carriageway with traffic management in place.
“The usual matchday road closures will be put in place 90 minutes before and one hour after kick-off on Walton Breck Road.”
The club also confirmed a new bus service.
“Arriva now operates a 926 service that will offer a pre- and post-match bus route between Liverpool One Bus Station and Everton Valley?
This non-stop service between the two stops is an alternative to the 26 and 27 services.”
There is also an update on a new fan zone at Anfield Road.
“The Fan Zone on Anfield Road will open at 11am until 2.45pm with live music, football activities, games zone, drinks bar and an appearance from Mighty Red,” the statement read.
“Access is for both home and away fans for this match who can enter with a valid matchday ticket.”
