After enduring an injury in Liverpool's Carabao Cup final against Newcastle, Ryan Gravenberch has had to withdraw from the Netherlands squad, prompting a statement from the club.
The midfielder was set to join Dutch teammates including Virgil van Dijk and Cody Gakpo but will now miss the UEFA Nations League clashes with Spain.
The Dutch team's official Twitter accounted relayed the news on Wednesday night, saying: "Ryan Gravenberch has left the Oranje's training camp this evening," and "The midfielder is still suffering from an injury sustained over the weekend that prevents him from playing in the matches against Spain.
According to their announcement: "Ryan Gravenberch has departed the Netherlands camp and will not be involved in their fixtures this week." Additionally, the club elaborated on the 22 year old's situation: "The Liverpool midfielder had linked up with his country, alongside Cody Gakpo and Virgil van Dijk, for a UEFA Nations League double-header versus Spain on Thursday and Sunday."

Unfortunately, due to the ongoing fitness concerns, the team's statement confirmed his withdrawal: "However, the Dutch announced on Wednesday evening that Gravenberch has now withdrawn from duty due to a fitness issue."
Gravenberch's condition will be checked once he's back in Liverpool, ahead of the Reds' meeting with Everton at home on April 2.
