For Liverpool, several names are being touted as possible options, especially considering that the Reds are due a busy summer.

With the title race almost done, Liverpool are already making concrete plans to strengthen their squad and compete for even more titles next season.

As expected, the attacking department is set to undergo an upgrade, with Darwin Nunez, Diogo Jota and Luis Diaz likely to depart Anfield next summer.

Their replacements are being discussed internally, and those who are close to the situation have named Alexander Isak and Ekitike as possible signings for the No.9 position.

According to Bild journalist Christian Falk, Liverpool are among Premier League clubs scouting the 24-year-old Mainz forward ahead of a potential transfer.

Burkardt has been in fine form this season, contributing a total of 15 goals and two assists in all competitions.

Speaking exclusively to CaughtOffside for his latest Daily Briefing column, the German journalist revealed that the German international wants the next step in his career.

“Jonathan Burkardt: Frankfurt is currently the favourite for a transfer, while Bayern are still hesitating,” Falk said.

“Burkardt wants to take the next step in his career, and that could be the Premier League?

Manchester United are rumoured to be one of the clubs from England interested in him, along with Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur, Newcastle United and Brighton – they are all said to have scouted Burkardt.”
