Another round of Premier League action was completed over the weekend with a lot of talking points arising from it.

Liverpool will be licking their wounds today after suffering just their second defeat in the league this season, whilst Southampton’s relegation was confirmed.

The Reds struggled to contain Fulham’s firepower as they fell to a disappointing defeat on Sunday, failing to capitalize on Arsenal’s draw the day before.

The January transfer window is already a distant memory, and Liverpool now turn their attention to the upcoming summer, and what the future could look like for their forward line.

Whilst Mohamed Salah has been up to his usual brilliance, the likes of Luis Diaz, Darwin Nunez and Diogo Jota have struggled to support their star man.

A lack of consistency in their form has led to their goalscoring numbers being low, opening up the possibility for potential attacking additions this summer.

As a result of this, Liverpool scouts were in attendance at one particular game over the weekend, with their eyes set on one man in particular.

Ipswich Town striker Liam Delap is a player that has impressed throughout this season, shining in a side that has struggled to adapt to life in the Premier League.

The 22-year-old English striker has scored twelve goals so far this season, an impressive return for a player in a team that has battled relegation from the very kick-off.

On Saturday, Delap scored to put the home side ahead against Wolves, but two second-half goals from the visitors meant that Ipswich slumped to yet another defeat.

With Ipswich now closing in on following Southampton to the Championship, multiple clubs have started to monitor Delap.

TBR Football claim that Liverpool, Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur all had scouts at Ipswich vs.

Wolves.

Liverpool join a host of clubs monitoring Ipswich’s star man.

With Darwin Nunez rumoured to be the most likely forward to depart Liverpool this summer, Liverpool could now look to Liam Delap to strengthen their strike force.

Nunez is currently experiencing a six-game run of not finding the back of the net, which won’t make the links to players such as Delap go away anytime soon.

Despite this being Delap’s debut season in the Premier League, he has double the number of goals as the Uruguayan.
