Liverpool have had numerous contract sagas all season, though the end appears to be in sight for the big-name players.

Mohamed Salah last week put pen to paper on a new deal at long last, whilst Virgil van Dijk has teased that he will sign a contract extension with Liverpool to remain on Merseyside for the next two seasons until 2027.

Although Trent Alexander-Arnold is expected to join Real Madrid once his contract with Liverpool expires later this summer, the Reds have done a good job in keeping two key players in Salah and Van Dijk to commit their futures to the Anfield side.

And another Liverpool player now appears to be in line to sign a new contract with the Premier League leaders.

According to the Liverpool Echo, Vitezslav Jaros is in line to be awarded a new Liverpool contract, with the 23-year-old goalkeeper making his debut for the Reds and establishing himself as the third-choice option between the sticks.

With Jaros’ contract due to expire next year, the Czech Republic international has more than earned a new deal after impressing in his limited appearances for Liverpool this season, with the youngster proving to be a popular figure amongst players and fans.

And the Liverpool talent being handed a new deal completes an incredible turnaround for the shot-stopper, with Jaros last summer asking the Reds if he could leave with a pathway to regular football at Anfield currently blocked by Alisson Becker, Caoimhin Kelleher and the returning Giorgi Mamardashvili.

MORE LIVERPOOL STORIES

With Arne Slot lauding Jaros as ‘outstanding’ via LFC TV, the Liverpool manager is clearly a big fan of the former Slavia Prague goalkeeper, who next season could feature more for the Reds with Kelleher expected to leave Anfield.

With just two appearances in all competitions for Liverpool this season, there’s a real chance that Jaros might play the same amount for the Reds next year, even if Alisson or Mamardashvili were to pick up injuries.

And with Liverpool looking to extend the goalkeeper’s contract, loaning out Jaros might be a smart idea from the Reds, with the 23-year-old at a crucial stage in his career where every minute of first-team football played is valuable.

Indeed, Jaros has caught the eye with his limited appearances this season, and Liverpool will be wise to allow the Czech Republic international to go out on loan if a big enough club comes in for the Anfield youngster.
