Liverpool look like they could potentially be set for a special season this term.
The Reds could hardly have started better under Arne Slot, winning 14 of their first 16 games.
That has moved Slot ahead of Jose Mourinho and Carlo Ancelotti as the manager with the most wins out of his first 16 matches in charge of a Premier League club.
Nevertheless, if Liverpool are to make good on their potential and have a proper tilt at the league and Champions League, it feels like they could do with a mid-season signing or two.
The Reds hardly did anything across the summer and did not sign a player in January 2024, either.
But with another chance to bolster the Liverpool squad arriving in just a couple of months, the Reds are reportedly set to go toe-to-toe with Bayern Munich to bring an in-form attacker to Anfield.

If Liverpool are to add to their group in January, then it seems most likely to be in the midifeld.
However, recent injuries to Federico Chiesa and Diogo Jota have shown that adding another forward option could be smart, too.

Slot chose to play Luis Diaz through the middle on Tuesday against Bayer Leverkusen.
And although it worked handsomely, this is not Diaz’s natural position.
With the jury still out on Darwin Nunez and Jota’s injury record continuing to be poor, there is an argument that Liverpool need a proper starting centre-forward.

Perhaps that man could be Omar Marmoush.
The Eintracht Frankfurt striker has been in terrific form all season, with former Egypt goalkeeper Ahmed Shobair calling Marmoush a ‘distinguished talent’ recently [bundesliga.com].
Liverpool have been heavily linked with Marmoush for a little while now and according to German journalist Christian Falk, the Reds are set to rival Bayern to sign the 25-year-old.
Taking to X on Wednesday morning, Falk gave a rundown of the Bundesliga giant’s current top four targets for a new striker, with Marmoush on there.
Liverpool are noted as the ‘competitor’ for the Egyptian’s signature.
Although there has been plenty of smoke where Marmoush and Liverpool are concerned, it is Rousing The Kop’s understanding that the Eintracht man is not necessarily top of their shortlist.
The Reds are looking at the forward positions for potentially strengthening in the near future, especially if Mohamed Salah departs on a free transfer.
However, Rousing The Kop understands that Liverpool could prioritise a move for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia over Marmoush, with others such as Nico Williams also potentially on the radar.
It’s understood that a move for Marmoush could still come to fruition, but at the current time nothing is anything close to being advanced.
