"I’ve got friends who are Everton fans, and that back and forth with them.

Obviously, if you win the game, it’s nice to say our city until the next time, little things like that."

In a separate interview, Jones again explained his passionate view of the Merseyside derby.

"This game is one where you’ve got friends who are Everton fans, you’ve got family and stuff.

I’m not going to think about that it’s the last one there and things like that – it’s with them and their fans and their history there.

"It doesn’t really affect me.

Neither he nor Jones will be with the squad for Sunday's clash against Wolves.
