Dominik Szoboszlai was the target of a humorous April Fool's joke from Hungarian telecommunications giant Magyar Telekom earlier this week.
The telecommunications company revealed a statue in his honour but it did not resemble him at all.
The Liverpool midfielder, who attended a low-key event to celebrate the one-year partnership with the company, was left speechless when he was presented the sculpture made out of recycled mobile phones.
He was greeted with a scary life-sized statue that looked nothing like him.

The sculpture featured deformed cheeks, a shiny chin, and a monstrous quiff.
It's no surprise the Hungary captain was left stunned.

After being asked if he liked it, Szoboszlai said: "No.
I only stayed because I respect you.
"I don't think this has ever happened before, to do something without asking."
After a brief pause, Szoboszlai hilariously added: "This looks nothing like me.
It looks like my a** turned inside out."

He soon learned that a giant version of the statue would be placed at a busy intersection in the city and was led to believe it would be floated down the River Danube on a barge during Hungary's national holiday on August 20.
Szoboszlai remained shocked before Telekom told him it was a major prank.
The moment, which was posted by Sport Bible on Instagram received many comments from fans.
One joked: "Designed by Arda Guler," before another added: "Arda liked it," followed by laughing emojis.
The pair clashed during Hungary and Turkey’s UEFA Nations League clash last month.
