Liverpool star Harvey Elliott has revealed how he was mobbed during a shopping trip after his late heroics against Paris Saint-Germain.
The 21-year-old had only nipped into his local branch of Sainsbury's for some toilet roll and milk when he was suddenly besieged by Reds fans.
The result handed Arne Slot's side the advantage in the Champions League round of 16, ahead of Tuesday night's return clash at Anfield.
Elliott has also opened up about the special moment he shared with fans inside the ground after the game as he warmed down.
"It was a great feeling walking back out when the Liverpool fans were still in the stadium," he said in an interview with former Manchester United and Wrexham goalkeeper Ben Foster.
"Hearing them singing and having that moment with the fans, it was just such a lovely feeling.
I didn't understand the magnitude of that goal.
"I went to Sainsbury's yesterday, and there were Liverpool fans there.
Harvey Elliott made the difference for Liverpool against PSG.
When quizzed by the Liverpool Echo whether he found it difficult to leave Elliott out of the starting line-up, Slot said: "It is always a difficult decision not to start Harvey, not to start Wata (Wataru Endo), not to start all the other ones I don't play.
"But if someone comes in for five minutes, touches his first ball and scores a goal and then you change your whole idea about all the line-ups you made before, that would be a bit out of line - a bit weird as well.
