Lionel Messi has praised Liverpool star Alexis Mac Allister and his Argentina teammates after their 4-1 win over Brazil on Tuesday evening.

Mac Allister played 76 minutes of Argentina's World Cup qualifier which saw them seal a place in next year's tournament.

The 26-year-old scored his country's third goal on the night to pile misery on their greatest rivals.



The Inter Miami forward missed the game through injury but responded to the victory on social media.

Messi posted a video on his Instagram stories of the closing stages alongside five clapping hands emojis.

Mac Allister posted an emotional message on the same platform several hours later.

"Let's go Argentina!"
