One Liverpool star’s future is reportedly far from England according to the latest report.

The Reds are expected to have a busy summer, which is expected to feature new signings and the sale of some players.

Darwin Nunez and Diogo Jota are two players recently named as possible exits, while the situation around Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold means there is no certainty over their stay at the club beyond this summer.

Elsewhere, Kostas Tsimikas could leave Liverpool in the summer if the club succeed in buying a new left-back in the summer, while Caoimhin Kelleher is likely to secure a summer move, given the imminent arrival of Giorgi Mamardashvili.

Another player has now been identified as potentially leaving this summer is Federico Chiesa.

It goes without saying that Chiesa has not enjoyed a successful Liverpool career since he joined the club in the summer.

Despite arriving with much expectation, the Italian winger has not really kicked on at Liverpool, mainly due to fitness issues.

A lack of match sharpness hampered his early integration into the team, with Arne Slot admitting that his lack of a pre-season meant that he needed more time to get back to full fitness.

However, although the Italian has since returned to fitness, he still remains a peripheral figure at the club.

He has played just 371 minutes for the club’s first team this season, scoring one goal and registering two assists in that period.

As a result of his lack of game time, there are reports that the Italy international’s future lies away from Anfield.

One such report is from Italian news outlet Calciomercato, who claim that the 27-year-old is likelier to leave Anfield this summer than remain at the club beyond this season.

However, the report adds that he will have to take a pay cut to secure a move to the Serie A, where a host of top clubs are interested in signing him.

“Chiesa’s future, as of today, is increasingly far from England,” the report said.

“While a return to Italy seems the most likely option, the issue of his salary, however, is a problem that is far from indifferent.

And for a new adventure in Serie A, the ’97-born player will have to make the effort to reduce his salary.

“We recall that already in January, Napoli and Atalanta had shown strong interest in the Italian winger even if, subsequently, neither club had decided to make the move.

In addition to the two teams mentioned, also keep an eye on Inter.”

Meanwhile, Italy manager Luciano Spalletti recently claimed that the Liverpool attacker has ‘failed’ in the Premier League.

Speaking to Italian media, Spalletti said:

“Unfortunately, he has failed in England.”

“He has only played 25 minutes.

He needs more defensive phase.”

Not exactly what one would want to hear from their national team coach, but not unexpected for the 27-year-old unfortunately.
