Liverpool supporters have been having their say on Darwin Nunez following his miss against Aston Villa on Wednesday night.

The Reds were held to a 2-2 draw by Unai Emery’s side at Villa Park, a result that moved them seven points clear at the top of the Premier League table.

However, the major talking point following the game was the forward's miss during the second-half.



Nunez spurned the opportunity to give Liverpool a 3-2 lead when he fired over the crossbar from six yards out following a pass from Dominik Szoboszlai.

Speaking on Thursday, Reds boss Arne Slot said he would be speaking to the 25-year-old about his disappointing drop in work rate after he “got too much in his head” following his costly miss at Villa Park.

Klopps Disciple commented: "If you support the team then you should support the players, all players have dips in form and need confidence, Darwin has endured ridiculous criticism from Liverpool supporters, if you want to see the best of him, then support him, do you think players don't see this abuse?"

Bliy believes: "That was basically an open goal.

I have always supported him even if he keep missing the chances but at this crucial stage, we need to put away these chances which doesn’t come often especially away at villa park.

Maybe it's not yet too late to follow this example."

DiscoDave99 said: "Nunez has moments like this every other game so it should not have been a surprise when he missed, the only thing it’s done is take the heat of Jota let’s not forget his shocking miss when 1-0 up now that really did let Villa off the hook."
