Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk are two of Liverpool’s most prized assets.
Both players have been key to Liverpool’s success in recent years and were smart additions to get a club back to where it belongs.
Salah and van Dijk find themselves out of contract with Liverpool this summer, which could prove to be a big loss for the club if the pair were to depart.
Reinforcements in the areas of the pitch that the Liverpool duo occupy hinge on whether new contracts can be agreed to keep them at Anfield.
The pair may both be over the age of thirty, but the impact on and off the pitch that they both have make them extremely influential.
Influence that you would want to keep at the club.
Much has been said about the future of Liverpool’s star men, and now Liverpool-linked Bournemouth defender Dean Huijsen has had his say.
The 19-year-old has adapted remarkably well to the Premier League after making the move from Juventus last summer.
Mature beyond his years, and a natural ability that has put him alongside some of the best centre-halfs in the division and has generated a lot of transfer interest.
Speaking on a podcast, Dean Huijsen comments highlight what Liverpool stand to lose if they were to let the pair go.
Huisen, when asked who his toughest opponent was, said: “I think Salah because he has the ability to create stuff.
He’s always there.”
A trait most Liverpool fans will agree with Salah’s statistics a testament to his ability to provide for the team whenever called upon.
Huijsen was then questioned on who the best centre-back in world football was right now.
He said: “van Dijk, 100 percent.
Just seeing him on the pitch, he’s so impressive.
He just stands there and he’s so tall, so strong.
I definitely [look up to him].”
Huijsen’s comments further cement the idea that Salah and van Dijk are key to this Liverpool side, and the hierarchies at the club will need to see it as a priority to find a way to keep the two at the club.
