Premier League clubs don’t wait around when it comes to young talents.
If a teenager shows promise, scouts are watching.
If he proves himself at the senior level, clubs line up to sign him.
That’s exactly what’s happening with one of the most exciting prospects in English football right now.
He’s 17, already playing first-team football, and impressing in one of the toughest leagues outside the Premier League.
Some of the biggest clubs in Europe are interested in him.
Liverpool’s interest in the youngster didn’t just start?
They have infact had the young midfielder on their radar since last year.
And now, according to reports, his club seems ready to let him go, for the right price.
Who is the Liverpool target that could be available for £25 million in the summer?
According to CaughtOffside, Sunderland starlet Chris Rigg is set to be available for around £25 million this summer.
The report states, “a long list of top clubs are on alert as the 17-year-old attacking midfielder could be available for around £25 million in the summer transfer window.”
Liverpool is among the clubs watching closely, along with Arsenal, Manchester United, Chelsea, Manchester City, Brighton, Newcastle, Borussia Dortmund, and Real Madrid.
Sunderland has resisted offers for Rigg in the past, but they are now “resigned to losing him and will be prepared to let him go for a big fee.”
Despite his age, Rigg has already played 53 games for Sunderland’s first team, scoring seven goals.
The comparisons to Jude Bellingham are growing.
The report points out, “It was already obvious that Jude Bellingham was the real deal when he was doing similar things for Birmingham City at that age, so Premier League clubs won’t want to miss out again.”
Liverpool knows the importance of investing in young talent.
If Rigg reaches his full potential, £25 million could look like a bargain in a few years.
