Liverpool will be gunning for a response after a disappointing week prior to the enforced interval - as they were knocked out of the Champions League by Paris Saint-Germain and also laboured to a 2-1 defeat in the Carabao Cup final against Newcastle United.

The Dutchman is facing a series of selection questions and dilemmas.

Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, Liverpool's head coach Slot felt he may have got selection wrong during the Carabao Cup final.
He said: "Maybe, maybe, maybe I'd made the biggest mistake by not rotating enough - maybe not rotating enough in the line-up for Newcastle.
"But I thought there were four days in between, they had enough rest.
