Darwin Nunez has posted on social media ahead of Wednesday night's impending Merseyside derby as Liverpool attempt to extend their lead at the top of the Premier League.

The Reds host Everton as they look to avenge their dramatic disappointment of a draw during February's reverse fixture.

Arsenal's 2-1 win over Fulham on Tuesday night further reduced Arne Slot's lead at the Premier League summit to nine points.



Liverpool will be gunning for a response after a disappointing week prior to the enforced interval - as they were knocked out of the Champions League by Paris Saint-Germain and also laboured to a 2-1 defeat in the Carabao Cup final against Newcastle United.

The Dutchman is facing a series of selection questions and dilemmas.

However, the struggles and lack of a major contribution from Luis Diaz, Diogo Jota and Nunez has been laid bare.

Nunez has posted a matchday graphic to his Instagram page.

Of course, this could just be someone running their accounts for them, posting regardless of whether they are going to be involved or not - but it can often be a hint players are set to feature, too.

Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, Liverpool's head coach Slot felt he may have got selection wrong during the Carabao Cup final.

He said: "Maybe, maybe, maybe I'd made the biggest mistake by not rotating enough - maybe not rotating enough in the line-up for Newcastle.

"But I thought there were four days in between, they had enough rest.
