Liverpool could see Tottenham Hotspur move for a player once tipped to be Mo Salah's replacement.
Reports suggest that Spurs are eyeing a £33.5m swoop for Bournemouth's Antoine Semenyo at the end of the season.
The Ghanaian's impressive performances this season are said to have caught the eye of several top clubs, including Liverpool.
Former Kop idol Michael Owen even said that the 25-year-old could be Salah's heir at Anfield should the Egyptian depart the Reds this summer.
However, Liverpool might have an edge if they heed Owen's advice.

Earlier in the campaign, Owen highlighted Semenyo as a potential solution for Liverpool's attacking conundrum, especially if Salah doesn't renew his contract and exits after an eight-year stint.
"Semenyo is a brilliant player," Owen said on Premier League Productions in January.
"He scores goals - and we don't know if Mohamed Salah will stay or leave but, if he leaves, Semenyo should be his replacement."
The versatile right-footer, capable of playing on both wings, has notched nine goals and five assists across competitions this term, as per the Express.
Spurs are reportedly considering Semenyo as a potential replacement for Richarlison, who may be eyeing a move to the Saudi Pro League after his £60million transfer from Everton in 2022 failed to capture the imagination. It's believed that Semenyo is open to leaving Bournemouth, who are likely to finish above Tottenham this season, with reports suggesting the former Bristol City player is keen to test himself at the top level.
However, if Liverpool decide to pursue Semenyo, it could complicate matters for Spurs.

The Reds are having an exceptional season and their appeal is expected to increase should they achieve significant success this year - a crucial factor if they need to find a replacement for Salah.
Despite facing the potential departure of three key players - Virgil van Dijk, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Salah - Slot's team currently sit 15 points clear of second-placed Arsenal, although they have played one game more.
