As we reach the end of the January window approaches, there are more and more names being linked with a move to Liverpool, with Alexander Isak finding himself being sensationally touted over the past 24 hours.

Champions League latest

A quick break from transfer news and the culmination of Wednesday’s Champions League fixtures means the Reds have a clearer idea of how the table is shaping up.

Liverpool is one of just two sides guaranteed a spot in the last-16 at this stage, along with Barcelona, and Arne Slot’s side just needs a point next week against PSV Eindhoven to top the 36-team league.

Joshua Kimmich talks

There are differing reports coming out of Germany about Liverpool's interest in Joshua Kimmich.

According to Sky Germany's Florian Plettenberg, the Reds have no plans to make a move for the Bayern Munich star, whose contract is set to expire at the end of the season.

However, Bild's Tobi Altschaffl has claimed the 29-year-old is still being discussed at Liverpool, and that the Reds are more likely to sign him than Manchester City, although the most likely scenario is still that he extends his contract at Bayern.

Alexander-Arnold offers 'rejected'

Trent Alexander-Arnold has still not made a contract agreement with with any club, according to Sky Sports in France.

Despite reports in Spain that his move to Real Madrid is already a 'done deal', this latest report suggests there is no agreement with Los Blancos.

What's more, it's said that they are still some way off agreeing terms.

That may be good news for Liverpool, although it's also claimed that Alexander-Arnold has rejected multiple contract offers at Anfield, so there's still a lot of work to do for the Reds.

Liverpool 'best-placed' for Alexander Isak

Liverpool is the 'best-placed' side to agree a deal for Newcastle United star Alexander Isak, according to Football Transfers.

It's claimed that the Reds are among the most 'persistent suitors' of the striker, with Newcastle even said to be looking into a deal for Viktor Gyokeres in anticipation of Isak leaving.

If the report is true though, Liverpool certainly won't get him cheaply, with recent reports suggesting Newcastle could demand upwards of $188m (£150m).

Liverpool has been credited with interest in a transfer for Alexander Isak.
