Valencia boss on Giorgi Mamardashvili

Liverpool is interested in signing Valencia goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili as a long-term succession plan to eventually replace Alisson Becker but the Spanish side's manager has offered an update.

"Tomorrow we will count on him as one more," he said during a press conference to preview this weekend's La Liga opener against Barcelona.

'Tensions' over Giorgi Mamardashvili deal

Tension is growing at Valencia over Giorgi Mamardashvili's potential exit, according to Plaza Deportiva (via Sport Witness).

It's claimed that Valencia is yet to accept an offer from Liverpool for the goalkeeper, although a bid of $33m (€30m) plus $5.5m (€5m) in bonuses is being considered.

And agreement is said to have been reached with Mamardashvili over a move, which will see him go on loan to Bournemouth for two years.

To do that though, Valencia would have to agree to Liverpool's offer before loaning him out themselves, with the Reds unable to sign a player and loan him out in the same window.

The situation is described as 'bizarre', with Valencia growing concerned at how long negotiations are taking, which leaves them with less time to find a replacement.

Rodrygo 'contact'

Rodrygo has been in contact with Manchester City this year, according to The Athletic.

Rumors linking the Brazilian with a move to Liverpool have re-emerged in recent days, although it's reported that Pep Guradiola is an admirer.

Rodrygo's entourage though insists that he wants to stay put at the Bernabeu, and that Madrid is not expecting an offer from City.

Manu Kone wants transfer

Manu Kone has made it clear he wants to play for a Champions League club this season, according to Sky Germany.

As we mentioned earlier, the Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder has reportedly told his current club he wants to leave this summer.

Gladbach is expecting to fetch $28m (£21m/€25m) including bonuses.

Kone was heavily linked with Liverpool last year, and although the Reds are reportedly not looking at any other No.6 targets after Martin Zubimendi's rejection, perhaps they should reconsider.

Piero Hincapie interest

Liverpool is one of four clubs interested in signing Piero Hincapie from Bayer Leverkusen, according to Ecuadorian site Studio Futbol.

The Reds are named alongside Bayern Munich, Tottenham and Atletico Madrid as being in the race for the defender.

Xabi Alonso is said to have asked Hincapie to stay put at Leverkusen, believing that he is a key piece in the club going for a second straight Bundesliga title.

Marco Verratti offer

Liverpool is among four Premier League sides to have been offered Marco Verratti, according to HITC.

As well as the Reds, Manchester United, Manchester City and Arsenal have reportedly been made aware of the 31-year-old's potential availability, along with some teams in Italy.

Verratti made the move to Qatar side Al-Arabi last year, but it's suggested he could be tempted by a move with just one year remaining on his contract.

Maxim De Cuyper interest

Liverpool is among a host of clubs interested in Club Brugge defender Maxim De Cuyper, according to Belgian outlet Nieuwsblad.

The left-back is reportedly drawing interest from the likes of Real Betis, Sevilla, Marseille, Ajax and Wolfsburg.

It's now claimed that Liverpool and Arsenal are monitoring the 23-year-old, although De Cuyper is said to want to cement his place in the Belgian national team before making a move abroad.

Sepp van den Berg interest

Bayer Leverkusen has joined the race for Sepp van den Berg, according to German outlet Kicker.

The defender's future remains up in the air, with Liverpool sticking to its $22m (£17m/€20m) valuation, despite PSV Eindhoven showing no intent to meet it with their offers, while Mainz is only interested in another loan.

Xabi Alonso could provide a solution though, with Leverkusen said to be willing to meet the asking price as they look for a potential replacement for Odilon Kossounou, who is wanted by Crystal Palace.

Sepp van den Berg is an option for Bayer Leverkusen.

The Turin club though is said to be reluctant to pay the $66m (£51.5m/€60m) asking price.

That could bring Liverpool back into the conversation, with Football Insider reporting earlier this week that Slot is keen for the Reds to sign his former AZ Alkmaar star.

"We need him to be in scoring positions as much as we can.

They apparently want to make an offer, but are looking for a way to do so with 'financial engineering'.

Diaz's current contract at Anfield runs until 2027, with nothing concrete having developed from talks over a new deal.

Giorgi Mamardashvili agreement

Giorgi Mamardashvili has given his approval to an arrangement that will see him head out on loan to Bournemouth for two seasons before linking up with Liverpool, according to Spanish outlet AS.

The Reds look to be edging closer to a deal for the goalkeeper, although quite what the deal will entail is still up for debate.

Some suggestions indicate he may stay at Valencia for another year, while others suggest he'll head to Bournemouth first before he links up with Liverpool.
