Odilon Kossounou 'top of Liverpool list'

Bayer Leverkusen defender Odilon Kossounou has moved to the top of Liverpool’s list of center-back targets for this summer, according to Caught Offside.

Manchester United is also said to be keen on the 23-year-old who has rejected a new deal with Xabi Alonso's side and could therefore be on the move in this transfer window.

Leny Yoro is expected to move to Real Madrid while Jarrad Branthwaite has proven to be too expensive for Manchester United, with both clubs perhaps in need of alternatives for their top targets.

The ECHO did report last week, though, that if Liverpool couldn't get Yoro, it might not sign a defender at all.

Joshua Kimmich 'key' for Liverpool

Liverpool views Joshua Kimmich as a 'key' target this summer, according to TuttoJuve.

Despite earlier reports claiming the German international is only interested in a move to Manchester City, the report from Italy suggests otherwise.

Liverpool is even said to be willing to drop its interest in Teun Koopmeiners in order to target Kimmich, although Barcelona and City could provide competition for his signature.

Barcelona offer for Diaz alternative

Barcelona may have identified an alternative to Luis Diaz, and it isn't Nico Williams.

According to Florian Plettenberg, the Catalan club has submitted an official offer for Hull City winger Jaden Philogene.

The deal would see the 22-year-old join Barcelona on an initial one-year loan with an obligation to buy in 2025, tied to certain conditions including playing time.

Calafiori clause could complicate transfer

Riccardo Calafiori has a clause in his contract that could complicate matters for Liverpool this summer.

The door is now open to go after the defender after Italy were knocked out of Euro 2024 yesterday, and reports have suggested Bologna is reluctant to sell to Juventus, which could work in the Reds' favor.

What might not though is a sell-on clause in Calafiori's contract, which may well drive his price up.

Tottenham expected to win Gray race

Archie Gray is leaning towards a move to Tottenham, according to The Athletic.

An earlier report from the BBC indicated that Liverpool was interested in the Leeds United teenager, with his move to Brentford falling through.

The Athletic though reports that Spurs are working on a deal to sign Gray, with an expectation on all sides that an agreement can be reached.

Kvaratskhelia wants Premier League move

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia wants a move to the Premier League, a source close to the Georgia international's camp has said (via the ECHO).

Liverpool is the only side namechecked as being in the race for the Napoli star, although the Reds are seemingly facing competition:

Liverpool have been linked with Kvaratskhelia, but two other Premier League clubs want him.

Leeds need to sell players this summer after missing out on promotion back to the Premier League.

Pitaluga loan cut short

Liverpool goalkeeper Marcelo Pitaluga has had his loan spell in Ireland cut short after just seven appearances.

The 21-year-old made the move to St Patrick's Athletic in January and was due to remain with the club for the duration of the Irish season, which runs from February to November.

St Patrick's boss Stephen Kenny though confirmed on Friday that Pitaluga was heading back to Liverpool early.

We said goodbye to Marcelo, a great guy and a good career ahead of him, I think.

Liverpool 'tracking' Arne Slot favorite

Liverpool wants to sign Igor Paixao from Feyenoord this summer, according to Globo Esporte.

Arne Slot of course knows the Brazilian well from his time in Rotterdam, and the report from South America suggests the 24-year-old is being tracked by the Reds, as well as several other clubs in Europe.

Paixao has even addressed rumors over his future, and namechecked Liverpool as he left the door open to a potential move.

Real Madrid's plan for Yoro

Real Madrid hopes to have a deal for Leny Yoro tied up before the start of their pre-season, according to Diario AS.

The race continues for the Lille defender, who is expected to leave the French side soon with his contract expiring next summer.

Liverpool is pursuing the 18-year-old, although Yoro is thought to be waiting for Madrid.

Rodrygo doubts emerge

Rodrygo is losing faith that he will have a starting place at Real Madrid next season, according to Sport.

Kylian Mbappe's arrival at the Bernabeu could limit the Brazilian's chances, with Rodrygo said to be fearing that the French star will drift onto the wings.

Liverpool has been linked with a move for the 23-year-old, although he would almost certainly cost a big fee for the Reds.

Gordon 'open' to Liverpool move

Anthony Gordon is open to joining Liverpool, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Reds could reportedly revive talks for the Newcastle star, although their chances of landing him now look much slimmer, with the Magpies closing in on deals to sell Yankuba Minteh and Elliot Anderson to Brighton and Nottingham Forest respectively.

Gordon though could be interested in a move to Anfield - he has previously dropped hints that he is a Liverpool fan.

Dean Huijsen price set

Juventus has named its price for Dean Huijsen this summer, according to Mirko Di Natale.

The Italian club is claimed to be reluctant to part ways with the 19-year-old defender, and will only do so for at least $32m (£25m/€30m).

Liverpool is linked with Huijsen, with PSG and Bayern Munich said to be leading the race.

Borussia Dortmund, Newcastle, Bayer Leverkusen, RB Leipzig and Stuttgart are also said to be monitoring the situation.

Anthony Gordon hopes over?

In case you missed it last night, Liverpool's chances of signing Anthony Gordon might now be over after Newcastle managed to offload two of its players.

Yankuba Minteh and Elliot Anderson both made way, to Brighton and Nottingham Forest respectively, easing Newcastle's PSR worries somewhat.

The PSR deadline is today, which gave Liverpool an opportunity to try and take advantage to secure Gordon, but with Newcastle doing other business, it looks like those hopes might now be all but over.
