Liverpool rescued a point to keep Nottingham Forest at arm's length in the Premier League title race as Diogo Jota emerged as a substitute to have an instant impact.

Jota and Kostas Tsimikas were both brought on during the second half and combined for the Reds' equalizer, with Tsimikas immediately tasked with taking a corner, from which Jota headed home.

Liverpool had fallen behind to the in-form Chris Wood's strike during the first half.

Meanwhile, in the transfer window, the Reds' hopes of signing Khvicha Kvaratskhelia look to be over, with Paris Saint-Germain closing in on an agreement with Napoli for the Georgia international's signature.

The Reds also look set to miss out on last summer's principal transfer target, Martin Zubimendi, with multiple reports suggesting Arsenal is closing in on an agreement to sign the European Championship-winning midfielder during next summer's transfer window.

The Gunners are said to have been working on a deal to sign Zubimendi since August.
