Liverpool is reportedly willing to offer an amount well above Takefusa Kubo's release clause in order to land the exciting Real Sociedad winger.
It is claimed that the Reds had a bid for Kubo rejected during the summer transfer window but that they are still in the hunt to land the 23-year-old.
Kubo is said to have $63 million ($80 million) release clause at Sociedad, but Fichajes says that Liverpool could submit an $84 million ($106.3 million) offer to give itself the best chance of getting a deal over the line.
The report adds that Arne Slot is keen to sign a right winger with a high work ethic and that Kubo fits the bill in that regard.
Liverpool could be in the market for a new right winger this summer if Mohamed Salah ends up leaving the club, but Kubo would have his work cut out replacing the legendary Egyptian if his figures for Sociedad are anything to go by.
Kubo has scored just three goals this season and is yet to register an assist, while Salah has already notched 10 goals and 10 assists for the Reds.
Meanwhile, a report in Spain says that Liverpool will use Real Madrid's visit to Anfield in the Champions League as an opportunity to gauge the availability of Aurelien Tchouameni.
Liverpool was interested in Tchouameni when Jurgen Klopp was in charge, reportedly getting as far as agreeing personal terms with the Frenchman in 2022, but he opted to join Real Madrid from Monaco instead.
Tchouameni has featured regularly for Madrid ever since moving to the Spanish capital, but in recent times there has been a steady stream of speculation that Madrid has started to lose faith in the 24-year-old.
DefensaCentral says that Liverpool hopes that Florentino Perez will signal his willingness to sell Tchouameni next summer when the Madrid president travels to Anfield next week.
Regarding Liverpool's chances of signing Tchouameni, much will surely depend on Madrid's ability to replace him.
A Relevo report earlier this month said that Madrid considered Tchouameni's compatriot, Eduardo Camavinga, as a possible long-term option at the base of its midfield.
That report also said that Madrid could consider swooping for Manchester City midfielder Rodri.
