The build-up hasn't quite been ideal, with the Reds suffering a shock defeat at Plymouth in the FA Cup at the weekend, while more reports are raising questions over some of their stars.
The futures of Virgil van Dijk, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Mohamed Salah are still to be decided of course, while recent reports have linked the liked of Diogo Jota and Darwin Nunez with exits.
Here is the Liverpool.com verdict on the transfer gossip to emerge around the Reds on Wednesday, including the latest on Salah, which may come as a relief to supporters.
Mohamed Salah (Liverpool)
Mohamed Salah's priority remains staying at Liverpool, according to Caught Offside.
Despite Dejan Lovren claiming this week that his former teammate is closer to leaving than staying at Anfield, this latest report suggests that Salah is still eyeing up a new deal with the Reds.
However, Liverpool still has work to do in order to tie him down.
The new Liverpool home shirt for the 2024/2025 season features a chrome yellow pattern design and is a modern take on the legendary '84 home shirt - a season which saw the Reds become European Champions for the fourth time in Rome and the first English Club to win a treble of major honours.
At this stage, Liverpool fans are just crying out for a deal to be done, so hopefully FSG will be able to reach an agreement sooner rather than later.
Dean Huijsen (Bournemouth)
Liverpool is one of a number of clubs that could look to pounce on Dean Huijsen's release clause at Bournemouth, according to TBR Football
It's suggested that the 19-year-old defender has a $69 million clause in his contract which becomes active in the summer.
The Reds were linked with a move for Huijsen last year before he completed the move to Bournemouth from Juventus
He's also attracting interest from Europe, with Atletico Madrid, Inter Milan and Bayern Munich linked, although Bournemouth is said to be confident of keeping hold of him.
Liverpool.com says: Huijsen has looked like an impressive signing for Bournemouth, and one that will probably bank them quite a healthy profit at some point in the future
