What a week it's been for Liverpool, and it's made Arne Slot and Richard Hughes' job a lot easier ahead of the summer transfer window.
With Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk now signed up for the next two years, the Reds have ensured they will have their two most important players on board for what will surely be a defense of the Premier League title.
Even though Trent Alexander-Arnold looks set to be heading to Real Madrid, Liverpool can rightfully be delighted with its business over the past seven days.
It will need to do even more this summer though, with plenty of areas in Slot's squad that need some attention.
The 20-year-old is going to be a big signing for someone, and with Van Dijk on board for at least the next two years, he would surely be the ideal long-term heir to the Dutchman's throne.
Huijsen has looked so impressive in his first year in the Premier League, and it's even more astounding when you consider he was still a teenager just a few days ago
You simply can't ignore talent like that.
Florian Wirtz (Bayer Leverkusen)
Bayern Munich has held negotiations with the father and agent of Florian Wirtz, according to Christian Falk.
Writing on The Daily Briefing, Falk claims that Bayern's supervisory board and honorary president, Uli Hoeness, met with Hans-Joachim Wirtz, and the German giant believes it holds an advantage over other clubs interested in the Bayer Leverkusen star.
Wirtz has been linked with Liverpool, along with the likes of Manchester City and Real Madrid
The prospect of playing for the latter pair is said to still be tempting for the player.
Liverpool.com says: Wirtz would be a bit of a dream signing for Liverpool
For Liverpool though, there are other areas that need attention before a signing like Wirtz can be considered, which means it might just have to remain a dream for the Reds.
