Liverpool and Manchester City have been "sniffing around" Cole Palmer according to a sensational report.
Palmer, who was linked with Liverpool earlier this year, has been a revelation since moving to Chelsea in 2023, quickly establishing himself as one of the Premier League's top players, but the 22-year-old is currently on a 16-game goal drought having scored 39 goals in his first 68 games for the club.
Despite his struggles during the second half of the season, Palmer remains hot property, and that is why the report linking him with other clubs is so strange.
Chelsea, of course, will not want to sell Palmer, who has been the Blues' talisman over the last couple of seasons, but Chelsea journalist and fan Simon Phillips said in his Substack: “I’m not saying we do sell him by the way, both Manchester City and Liverpool have been sniffing around Cole Palmer for the summer, with City making an enquiry recently."

Palmer would cost a fortune, and Liverpool is not understood to be looking to sign a new attacking midfielder this summer, so it's safe to assume that this is one transfer that is very unlikely to materialize.
Meanwhile, Trent Alexander-Arnold's situation remains unchanged — despite his hugely emotive celebration after his match-winning goal against Leicester City last weekend.
Alexander-Arnold scored the only goal of the game at the King Power Stadium on his return from a near six-week injury lay-off, slamming home with a crisp left-footed strike.
The 26-year-old celebrated by taking his jersey off and sprinting toward the traveling Liverpool supporters, prompting some to question whether his reaction to the goal hinted at a possible change of heart over his future.
Trent Alexander-Arnold is still expected to leave Liverpool
It has been widely expected for some time that Alexander-Arnold will leave Liverpool as a free agent at the end of the season, with the right-back set to sign a long-term contract in the Spanish capital worth around $280,000 per week
Alexander-Arnold is also set to pocket a significant signing-on fee as part of the terms of the deal.
Transfer gurus David Ornstein issued an update on the situation, with both men saying that he is still firmly expected to leave
