Liverpool has reportedly decided against pursuing a move for Adam Wharton, with Real Madrid now interested in the Crystal Palace star.
Despite injury problems limiting Wharton to just nine Premier League starts this season, he has made a significant impact since his transfer from Blackburn Rovers last year.
The 21-year-old is widely regarded as one of the top defensive midfielders in the league and was part of the England squad that finished runner-up at Euro 2024.
According to the Daily Mail, Madrid is considering a summer move for Wharton, with the club's chief scout Juni Calafat being a big fan.
The report suggests that Madrid have been keeping tabs on Wharton's progress.
Liverpool has been linked with an interest in Wharton, but it is suggested that it is prioritizing other summer targets ahead of him, as is Manchester United.

Palace is believed to value the player at around $88 million/£70 million and he is expected to be included in Thomas Tuchel's first England squad later this month.
This is despite Palace boss Oliver Glasner advising Tuchel not to select Wharton, having managed his return from injury very carefully/
