Fulham standout and Liverpool transfer target Antonee Robinson has recounted his chilling brush with potential heart failure.
The Fulham left-back, who's been in stellar form this season racking up 10 assists, has caught the attention of Liverpool manager Arne Slot with his impressive displays.
However, the 27-year-old's career nearly came to an abrupt halt when a transfer to AC Milan was scuppered in 2020 after a serious heart condition was discovered during his medical.
The English-born United States international was playing for Wigan Athletic at the age of 22 when he faced this life-threatening scare.
Robinson reflected on his own health scare, saying: "It is scary thinking that if I didn't have that medical, I would have just carried on with my lifestyle and I was approaching heart failure.
"I didn't even drink much coffee, but when I was at Wigan, we had a car school where we all met at Starbucks
That was enough for me to have an abnormality."
After discovering his heart condition, Robinson transferred from Wigan to Fulham in August 2020
In the same month, he expressed contentment with his situation at Fulham under Marco Silva but remained open to a transfer if a significant offer came through.
He told Marca: "I'm very happy here
Robinson has done nothing to quell rumors of a move away from Fulham, having responded positively to posts linking him with Liverpool on social media.
