Liverpool are reportedly still confident that both Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk will sign contract extensions beyond this season.
The duo, along with Trent Alexander-Arnold, are due to become free agents at the end of June as their contracts all expire.
Alexander-Arnold is deemed the most likely player to leave Anfield this summer after reports have suggested he is determined to move to Real Madrid at the expiry of his contract.
Reports have suggested this week that a deal to the Bernabeu is closing in and that Liverpool are now assessing their options to replace him.
With the full-back on the way out, the attention is now turning to the other two key players in the Liverpool squad.
Van Dijk has been a rock in the defence this season but has kept his contract negotiations with the Reds under his hat.

Salah meanwhile has been much more outspoken regarding his future.
After the victory over Southampton, he expressed his desire to stay at Liverpool and his frustration that negotiations had not advanced.
This has been the rhetoric over the past few months but it appears Salah will soon get his wish of a new deal.
Until it is done, we can't say for certain and it would appear there is still work to do.
"But there has been nothing so far to suggest Liverpool's confidence has changed on these two." A report in Egypt on Thursday suggested that Salah's contract extension was edging closer thanks to Alexander-Arnold's impending departure for Real Madrid.
It is believed that a proportion of Alexander-Arnold's wages will be used to offer Salah the terms he is asking for.
