After two and a half weeks of waiting, Liverpool is finally back in action today, and it couldn't get much bigger as the Reds host Everton in the Merseyside derby at Anfield.
Having been away for so long, Arne Slot will be eager to shake off the defeats that saw his side's treble and double hopes ended just before the international break as quickly as possible.
It should be a momentous run of fixtures, with Slot's side a maximum of 16 points away from securing the Premier League title.
A win today would take them another step closer to the crown, although David Moyes' side will certainly not be a pushover, having gone unbeaten in the league since he returned to the dugout.

Slot admits he may break promise
Arne Slot has reignited the flames ahead of the Merseyside derby by refusing to promise he won’t land himself in trouble when Liverpool takes on Everton later.
Slot showed remorse for his angry confrontation with referee Michael Oliver after the game at Goodison in February, although the Liverpool boss isn’t ruling out a repeat when the two sides meet again later, telling Sky Sports:
I said I hope that I will act differently next time.
I cannot promise that, but I also think I’m never going to experience the same eight minutes as I experienced over there.

Alexander Isak '50/50' for transfer
Alexander Isak is "50/50" to leave Newcastle in the summer, according to Fabrizio Romano (via TBR Football).
The striker has been linked with Liverpool and Arsenal, with both clubs needing a new frontman, and few have caught the eye like Isak this season.
Discussing the chances of Arsenal getting a new striker, Romano suggested it was still up in the air whether he would stay put at Newcastle, whereas he tipped both Benjamin Sesko and Viktor Gyokeres to make moves.

Joao Gomes offer
Liverpool is eyeing up a summer move for Wolves midfielder Joao Gomes, according to Caught Offside.
The Reds are said to be just one of a number of top clubs keeping a close eye on Gomes, with Arsenal and Manchester United also claimed to have him on their radars.
It's suggested that, despite Gomes signing a new five-year contract this week, Wolves may still choose to cash in on him if the price is right.

Jarell Quansah 'wants Newcastle move'
Jarell Quansah wants to leave Liverpool in order to join Newcastle in the summer, according to Football Insider.
The Magpies have been linked with an interest in the defender, having been pushed back in their attempts to sign him last summer.
Liverpool has insisted that Quansah is not for sale, although Football Insider cites former Manchester United chief scout Mick Brown, who claims that the academy graduate actually wants to make the move to St James' Park in order to get more playing time.

8 players could miss Merseyside derby
There could be as many as eight players missing in the Merseyside derby at Anfield later.
Liverpool will definitely be without Trent Alexander-Arnold and Joe Gomez, while Everton is missing midfielder Orel Mangala and striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
On top of that, Conor Bradley may not be risked by Arne Slot so soon after returning from injury, while Everton has doubts over Dwight McNeil, Iliman Ndiaye and Vitalii Mykolenko.

Kane sends clearest transfer message yet
Harry Kane looks to have ruled out a return to the Premier League this summer, having found himself being linked with a shock transfer to Liverpool recently.
Speaking to ESPN, the England captain doesn’t look to be planning on a move away from Bayern Munich anytime soon:
[There are] a few random stories out there for sure, yeah.
I don’t know where they come from, but for sure I’m happy here at Bayern Munich.
