Premier League LIVE: Man United interested in Cunha, Juric leaves Southampton after relegation, Van Dijk issues Liverpool contract update

A lacklustre Manchester derby then ended goalless ahead of the final match of this gameweek between Leicester and Newcastle.
Southampton also became the first team relegated this season, and manager, Ivan Juric, has left the club less than a day later.

Lucas Paqueta spot-fixing hearing has been adjourned until the summer, talkSPORT understands
The West Ham midfielder, who denies wrongdoing, has been under investigation for spot-fixing.
Paqueta has been accused of picking up four deliberate yellow cards and could face a lengthy ban.
However, the adjourning of the hearing means he is free to see out the rest of the season with West Ham.
The Hammers are confident he will be cleared of any wrongdoing.
The Football Association declined to comment when contacted by talkSPORT.

Saka: 'I am really proud of Lewis-Skelly and Nwaneri'
Bukayo Saka on the club's academy: "The latest example is those two boys - Myles [Lewis-Skelly] and Ethan [Nwaneri] and how talented they both are.
"I'm always there for them if they want to ask me any questions - they do sometimes, sometimes they don't but I always make myself available to them.
"I'm really proud to see the steps that they are making and I hope they keep grounded and keep working hard.
"This is Arsenal, this is what we do. We've done it in the past and I just hope we keep continuing to do it so we can save more money!"

A twenty-year-old man has been charged with the assault of England star Jack Grealish during the Manchester derby.
According to the Daily Mail, the incident occurred after full-time at Old Trafford following the scoreless draw between Man City and Man United.
The report claims Grealish was coaxed over by a member of the crowd next to the tunnel, only to be assaulted.
It adds that the 29-year-old is not believed to have been seriously injured from the attack.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: ‘Alfie Holt, 20, of Haven Drive, Droylsden, has been charged with assault. He will appear at Manchester Magistrates Court.
‘This charge relates to an incident which took place at Old Trafford Football Club yesterday.’

Troy Deeney has called on Gary Neville to use his position to help tackle 'boring' Premier League matches.
The eight-time title winner hit out at an 'illness in the game' following Sunday's Manchester Derby.
After being asked if the ex-England man is right, he told Breakfast: "To an extent, he's right.
"I think he also plays a part in it with his commentary. If people do be a little bit adventurous or don't defend properly, he's the first to hammer them.
"So, he has to understand his voice carries a lot of weight as well.
"When people do try things, he's got to now encourage that through his platform that he has. And don't just be in this place of everything's negative because he can moan, can't he, Gary?
"I do like Gary, but he can moan all day. So, that's my take on Gary Neville."
No time to Kyl
How does one stop Kylian Mbappe?
Well, according to former centre-back and Arsenal great Martin Keown, it will most certainly be a collective effort.
“You do it together as a back four,” Keown told talkSPORT.com.
“Arsenal like to press. It’s where you press and making sure you control him (Mbappe), he doesn’t control you.
“We did see a situation against [Alexander] Isak for Newcastle where they had a lot of players running into space. Maybe Real Madrid have looked at that.
“Arsenal can go and sit very deep and then they’re harder to break down. But it’s initially when you lose that ball, whether or not you’re going tight to your man or whether you’re pushing up as a team. So that needs to be worked out.
“And I think by and large Arsenal have done that very well, done that better than anyone else in the Premier League so far this season. Their defensive record is outstanding.”

Bukayo Saka was also asked about his contract situation during his pre-match press conference this afternoon.
The Arsenal talisman said: "For me I want to win and I want to win wearing this badge so I think it's pretty clear.
"The fans know how much I love them and you saw on Tuesday I think they loved me back so it's a good relationship and I'm really happy to be here. I'm just focused on winning.
"It just reassured everything. It was special.
"You had to be in the stadium [on Tuesday] to really understand and feel the noise and energy they brought for me.
"I'm really grateful, I just want to win here."

Manchester United are interested in signing Wolves forward Matheus Cunha, talkSPORT understands.
Cunha has a release clause of £62.5 million, which kicks in this summer.
Arsenal have also been keeping tabs on Cunha, but the likes of Viktor Gyokeres and Athletic Bilbao's Nico Williams are ahead of him on their list in both the number nine and left-wing positions.
Nottingham Forest retain a firm interest in Cunha, however, it’s understood from those close to the player that he prefers to join a big-six club, even if Forest qualify for the Champions League.
Man United are looking for a number 10 to fit into Ruben Amorim's rigid 3-4-2-1 system.
It is understood Cunha's agent will fly to England soon for face-to-face talks with potential suitors and has already made some initial contact with United.

Fede Valverde has been named as Real Madrid’s most important player of the moment ahead of Jude Bellingham and Kylian Mbappe.
Los Blancos face Arsenal in a crunch Champions League quarter-final showdown with the first leg of the tie taking place this week.
Speaking on the Trans Euro Express, Brassell believes that despite sacrificing his game for the sake of the team, Valverde needs to play in his natural role to aid their cause against Arsenal.
Discussing Madrid’s most important player, Brassell said: “I understand making the case for Valverde.
“A little bit like a prime Michael Essien for Chelsea, you know he can do a great job in a number of positions.
“You stick him at right back, he’s great. Stick him at centre-back when he played in place of John Terry and he was great, but how much do you miss him in midfield?
“That’s always the thing with Valverde.
“The worst I’ve seen Real Madrid play this season was the hour at Anfield when they had Valverde at right-back.
“Is it because he’s an incapable right-back? No. It’s because they miss him in midfield.
“They need him in his position and Ancelotti has used him in that Rodrygo spot on the right-hand side almost like a right-sided forward to do a defensive role.”
Credit: Getty Saka: Dream to win Ballon d'Or - but dodges Vini Jr and Mbappe comparisons
Trent Alexander-Arnold is not the only England player with one eye on winning football's biggest individual honour.
When asked about the Ballon d'Or, Bukayo Saka said: "It's a dream.
"I think it's a dream for a lot of players. I'm just working hard to do my best for my team."
Saka was then quizzed on how far he thinks he is from the level of the likes of Ballon d'Or front-runners Vinicius Jr and Kylian Mbappe.
He replied: "I think it's very opinionated.
"I think everyone will have something different to say, but I don't really want to sit here saying they're a level above me and stuff like that because that's not the way I think.
"I'll just leave everyone to have their opinion but other things will speak for itself."

Arsenal star Bukayo Saka is next up, and claims he feels mentally fresh after coming back from injury.
The England international has been out with a hamstring issue since December and required surgery to fix it.
He scored just moments after stepping off the bench during his comeback - a 2-1 win over Fulham last midweek, with another cameo from the bench during the 1-1 draw at Everton on Saturday.
On the frustration of his injury, Saka said: "It was tough for me, it came at a bad moment but I'm just focused now on the positives and I couldn't ask to come back at a better time of the season than now."
On the break he's had due to injury, Saka continued: "I think mentally it was really good for me.
"Obviously it was really tough for me initially to find out the extent of my injury, that I was going to have surgery, it was really tough for me to hear the news at first but once it was done and successful I was just focused on coming back stronger and I had a lot of time.
"The past five years I've been playing game after game so it was the first proper break I've had. It was really good for me.
"I got to do a lot of things that I don't normally do. It's really nice to be back and I feel fresh mentally."
Credit: Getty Arteta provides positive team news update
Mikel Arteta has arrived for his pre-match press conference ahead of Arsenal's Champions League quarter-final against Real Madrid.
On team news, the Spaniard said: "Yeah it looks like it [everyone is available after the 1-1 draw with Everton].
"We have another training session this afternoon, Ben [White] finished the game. He was fine after the game.
"The rest went through the game and they were able to do some bits yesterday ready to train today."
Arteta was asked if he has decided what he will do without Gabriel, having started Jakub Kiwior on Saturday, and replied: "Yes, decided."
The reporter asked if he would tell us: "No."
On Bukayo Saka and whether he is ready to start, Arteta added: "He is in a much better place, gradually we have built his minutes in the last six or seven days, he has coped with that really well and he is in a good place to be able to be used."

Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk has confirmed that 'progress' has been made in negotiations over a new contract.
The Netherlands skipper's current deal expires this summer, and he has yet to sign an extension despite expressing a desire to stay.
However, Trent Alexander-Arnold's preference to leave Anfield at the end of the season has seemingly accelerated talks with Van Dijk.
The 33-year-old has now provided a positive update about his future when he spoke to reporters following Sunday’s 3-2 defeat at Fulham.
“There is progress, yeah,” he said.
Asked if that meant he would be staying at Liverpool beyond this season, he added: “I don’t know, we’ll see. Listen, these are internal discussions and we’ll see.
“I love the club, I love the fans and they were there for us again and we wanted to reward them.
“But I want them to be there Sunday again (at home to West Ham) and make the stadium an amazing venue like always for us.”

When fit, Diogo Jota is Arne Slot's preferred option for his Liverpool No.9 - but according to the stats, perhaps he shouldn't be!
The former Wolves star started seven of the club's first eight Premier League matches of the season before suffering a rib injury.
During his absence, Slot experimented between using Darwin Nunez with Luis Diaz also deputising as a false nine for periods.
However, since Jota's return at the start of the year, the Portugal international has been restored to the focal point of Slot's attack.
It has coincided with a miserable run for Liverpool, who crashed out of both the FA Cup and the Champions League.
The Reds also lost the Carabao Cup final to Newcastle, with Jota starting both of the club's only two Premier League losses this term.
The most recent of which came during the 3-2 defeat to Fulham on Sunday, where he missed a guilt-edged chance in the second-half.
In fact, the only defeat Liverpool have suffered across any competition all season where he hasn't started was the dead rubber 3-2 away loss to PSV, where the six-time European Cup winners were already confirmed to have a top-two finish in the league phase.
He did score the winner in the midweek Merseyside derby, but that was the first goal of any kind from Jota since January.
Saints go marching in
talkSPORT understands Danny Rohl and Liam Rosenior are both targets to replace Ivan Juric at Southampton.
Sheffield Wednesday's boss Rohl previously worked at St. Mary's alongside ex-boss Ralph Hasenhuttl.
The German was a Saints' target after Russell Martin was sacked prior to Juric's appointment.
Rohl also worked with Southampton's new technical director, Johannes Spors, during the pair's at Bundesliga outfit RB Leipzig.
Former Hull City boss Rosenior has been impressing at Ligue 1 side Strasbourg since replacing Arsenal legend Patrick Vieira last summer.
Simon Rusk and Adam Lallana are under consideration to take charge until the end of the season, talkSPORT understands.

Southampton are planning to part company with Ivan Juric as early as today following the club's relegation, talkSPORT understands.
The Saints confirmed their return to the Championship on Sunday following a 2-1 defeat to Tottenham.
The club still remain on course for one of the worst seasons in Premier League history despite already sealing their fate.
Southampton have won just one game since Juric replaced Russell Martin in December.
He was appointed on an 18-month deal, but that contract included a relegation break clause, as originally reported by talkSPORT.
Nu role
Pep Guardiola has suggested that Matheus Nunes will no longer play central midfield, stating that he's 'not clever enough' for the role.
The Portuguese international has been playing as an emergency full-back since mid-December as a result of injuries and the high-profile departure of Kyle Walker to AC Milan.
Since then Nunes has made 11 appearances at right-back and made the position his own, keeping Rico Lewis out of the team.
This comes after making eight appearances as a left-winger earlier in the season.
“He can become a good right-back for the physicality he has,” said Guardiola.
“The thing is not to play in the middle because he’s not clever enough with the composure.
“He is learning a lot. The full-backs make a mistake when they cross for the far post and they are sleeping.
“But he defended two or three crosses that Bruno Fernandes put into the far post for Dorgu.
“He has the physicality to do it. He can play there, and he helped us a lot.
“When he started the season if you said we play Matheus at right-back and Nico O’Reilly at left-back, I would say what are you talking about?
“But the season is what it is.
“Akanji is coming back, and we have two young central defenders.
“But the last two or three games, the back four today again was excellent.
“Today Ruben was incredible. Josko as well. Nico, the last 20 minutes he was tired. It’s new for him but he played really, really good.
“We build from that.”

Brennan Johnson had to be consoled by Heung-min Son after being denied the chance to secure his hat-trick from the penalty spot.
Johnson had already scored twice in the Premier League clash with Southampton on Sunday and had the perfect chance to grab his first-ever hat-trick in the competition.
Brought down by Saints’ star Wellington with the score at 2-1 in Spurs’ favour, the forward grabbed the ball in the sixth minute of injury time to round off his achievement.
However Pedro Porro took the ball off him and passed it to captain Cristian Romero who then passed it on to Mathys Tel.
Tel, who joined on loan from Bayern Munich in January, had scored just once since joining Tottenham and was keen to open his Premier League account – something that he managed with well a well-taken kick into the top corner.
But while the game ended with a 3-1 win for Spurs, Johnson looked deflated as he came off the pitch and was consoled by Son for being denied his chance to complete his hat-trick.
Speaking to the club’s official website after the game, Johnson explained: “It’s only normal for me to want to take the penalty.
“There’s only a certain amount of talking to do before it gets quite messy.
“I’ve been in the situation before when I’ve had people wanting to take the ball off me and it kind of unsettles you a little bit.
“I knew the game was pretty much done but still, I didn’t want to unsettle anyone or start any disagreements.
“So, once the decision was made, I just had to get on with it.”

Aaron Ramsdale is not the only one gutted by Southampton's relegation - Arsenal too have missed out on a cash windfall of £1million.
The Gunners sold their former No.2 goalkeeper to the Saints last summer and the £18m deal included a survival bonus for the club if Ivan Juric's side beat the drop this season.
However, that £1m bonus was forfeited after Southampton's fate was confirmed on Sunday after losing at Tottenham.
Ramsdale himself has admitted his new side ‘haven’t been good enough all season’ after their relegation was confirmed.
“We knew it was probably going to be inevitable at some point, we haven’t been good enough all season. We were dominated by the better team. We dug in in the second half but it is a sad day and one that this group of players will learn from,” he said to Sky Sports.
“Some are experiencing relegation for the first time so there will be a lot of emotions from them over the next few days. The lads who have been here before, we have to try and pick the young boys up.
"This group did incredible things last season. Nobody will want to jump ship with seven games to go. We are tight and we have just got to pull each other through now.”

Newcastle boss Eddie Howe has told his players to use Harvey Barnes as an example as he prepares to return to former club Leicester for the first time.
The 27-year-old left the King Power Stadium in a £38million switch to Tyneside in July 2023 after the Foxes' relegation from the top flight, but has had to remain patient since as he vies with Anthony Gordon for a place on the left side of Howe's front three.
Gordon's recent suspension and injury have handed Barnes a chance which saw him start the Magpies' Carabao Cup final victory over Liverpool and as he heads back to the East Midlands, Howe faces a difficult choice between him and the England international.
Asked what the wideman has to do to establish himself as a regular, the head coach said: "Well, I think it's continue to take your chance. I always say that to every player.
"The training ground is match day for the lads that aren't playing, so they need to see training as that important.
"They need to impress me. They need to show that they're better than the player in their position and that's a really healthy squad dynamic to have, so for anyone not playing, that's how they need to view it."

Ruben Amorim has accused Gary Neville of being ‘critical about everything’ after his no-nonsense analysis of the Manchester derby.
The former Manchester United defender didn’t hold back as he slammed the quality of Sunday’s goalless clash with Manchester City.
United mustered just two shots on target during a quiet derby at Old Trafford.
Neville launched into an explosive rant during his analysis on Sky Sports, which even saw him apologise for his own performance on co-commentary.
Amorim has now hit back with an answer that had some reporters laughing during his own post-match press conference.
When responding to a question about Neville’s comments, Amorim smiled as he said: “I understand that Gary Neville is critical about everything so I understand that part.
“Then I understand that we are in the moment that we are doing the worst season in history. Manchester City won everything in the past, (but) this season is struggling.
“So we are not in the best moments to give the best spectacle to every fan. We are not fighting for the big things so of course it’s different but you have to look at the context of the game.
“I understand the critical aspect of the players that played in this game in a different way because they were fighting every time for the titles so it’s a different context.”
'They should be ashamed'
Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola accused Manchester United supporters of lacking class after singing vulgar chants about Phil Foden's mother during Sunday's derby.
Guardiola said rival supporters should be ashamed having also targeted the England international as he left the field following a drab goalless draw at Old Trafford.
He said: "The chants to him? Lack of class. But it's not United, it's the people.
"We are so exposed, the people who are now on the screen in world football - managers, owners, and football players, especially.
"Honestly, I don't understand the mind of the people, involving the mum from Phil, being involved in that.
"It's a lack of integrity, class - and they should be ashamed. But it's what it is, it's happening everywhere I would say, not just in UK, everywhere."

Dougie Freedman has been officially announced as the new sporting director of Diriyah Club Sports Company after leaving Crystal Palace.
Among his multi-club role, the Scot will oversee recruitment for Al Diriyah, who will play in the second tier of Saudi football next season, having won the Saudi Second Division Group B.
Al Diriyah are owned by the Saudi Public Investment Fund [PIF], who also own Cristiano Ronaldo's Al Nassr, Al Ittihad, Al Ahli and reigning Saudi champions Al Hilal.
Nev-er a dull moment
Gary Neville pinpointed where Manchester United must improve in an explosive rant following their derby day draw.
The Red Devils held Manchester City to a 0-0 stalemate at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.
Neville's former club mustered just two shots on target during the match, where he was on co-commentary duties for Sky Sports.
Neville explained: "I think they all walked off thinking ‘we’re ok here we got away without making a mistake’. That was the sort of type of game. It was really disappointing.
"I apologise for my co-commentary actually, I think I let it get to me. I was boring on there as well, drab as well. Honestly, the whole game."
