Liverpool has won the Premier League title, and with it, the Reds draw level once again with Manchester United's record tally.

Sunday's win over Tottenham, following hot on the heels of Arsenal's draw with Crystal Palace in midweek, confirms what has been clear for some time now as the Reds are crowned the 2024/25 champions with four games to spare.

Arne Slot needed less than a full season to make his mark at Anfield, with the Dutchman leading Liverpool to its first league title in five years, having taken over from Jurgen Klopp less than a year ago.

Having been knocked off their perch, as Sir Alex Ferguson famously put it, the Reds are now firmly back on their pedestal, drawing level with United for league titles won.

The two clubs are England's most successful teams, but who leads the way when all other trophies are taken into account?

Premier League/League titles

It's all square on this front now, with Liverpool and Manchester United both on 20 league title each following the Reds' latest triumph.

This is of course Liverpool's second league title under the guise of the Premier League, with the other 18 coming back when the top flight was previously known as the First Division.

United still holds the record in terms of Premier League wins, with 13 to their name and seven First Division crowns.

It's now 12 years since their last league title under Sir Alex Ferguson, with the Old Trafford side not looking as though it will be challenging anytime soon.

FA Cup

United holds the edge here, with 13 FA Cups to Liverpool's 8.

League Cup

It's advantage Liverpool here, with the Reds having won the League Cup a record 10 times, with their most recent triumph coming last year with a 1-0 win over Chelsea in what turned out to be Jurgen Klopp's final trophy as manager

They of course missed the chance to make it 11 cups this year, having lost to Newcastle at Wembley in March.

United, meanwhile, has 6 League Cups to its name, with its last triumph coming in 2023 when it beat Newcastle 2-0 in the final.

Champions League/European Cups

Again, Liverpool leads the way here, with the Reds the most successful English club in Europe's premier competition, having been crown kings of the continent 6 times - four European Cups, two Champions Leagues.

That's twice as many times as United has won it, with their 3 triumphs consisting of one European Cup in 1968, and two Champions Leagues in 1999 and 2008.
