Liverpool are still waiting to discover why Arne Slot was given a red card at Everton - and whether he now faces an extended ban as a consequence.
Slot was given his marching orders by Michael Oliver following an exchange with the referee after the final whistle of the controversial 2-2 Premier League draw on Wednesday evening.
The Reds were within seconds of claiming victory when James Tarkowski struck a dramatic injury-time equaliser with Oliver ignoring the visitors' claims Ibrahima Konate had been fouled by Beto in the build-up, a decision upheld by VAR.
The Football Association will on Thursday review Oliver's report on the incident with Slot before deciding whether or not to charge the Liverpool head coach.

Should it deemed a non-standard case - which seems likely given Slot has already served a one-match touchline ban for the League Cup quarter-final at Southampton in December having received three bookings - the charge would then require a hearing.
Early on Thursday, a statement saying Slot would be banned for two games was hastily deleted from the Premier League website shortly after being published.

However, as it stands Slot will not be prevented from being on the touchline for Sunday's Premier League visit of Wolves.
In an explosive end to the final Goodison derby, Liverpool assistant manager Sipke Hulshoff was also dismissed after the whistle while Curtis Jones will miss the game against Wolves having being awarded a second yellow and subsequent red for his part in a post-match altercation in which Everton midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure was given a similar censure.
