After a period of relative transfer market quietude, Liverpool FC appears poised for a significant surge in activity during the upcoming summer window.
Most reports are increasingly confident that the summer of 2025 will mark a pivotal moment in the Reds’ transfer strategy, with multiple indicators suggesting a transformative approach from the club’s hierarchy as they look to reinforce Arne Slot’s squad he inherited from Jurgen Klopp.
The Merseyside club has maintained a notably conservative approach to transfers in recent windows.
Since Arne Slot’s appointment as head coach, Liverpool have secured just Federico Chiesa as a permanent first-team signing, along with goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili whose £25m transfer from Valencia was agreed last summer but will only be completed ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.
This deliberate restraint, a hallmark of Liverpool’s transfer philosophy under FSG ownership, appears set to give way to a more aggressive strategy in the coming months.
And according to reports from Germany, the Reds have their eyes on a midfield acquisition.
Indeed, Chief BILD reporter Christian Falk has asserted that Stuttgart’s Angelo Stiller has caught the attention of Liverpool:
“It’s true: Liverpool are interested in Angelo Stiller,” the head of football at the BILD Group told CaughtOffside.
“Stiller has a release clause in his contract – valued at €36m – which comes into play in 2026.”

“We heard about interest from Liverpool, so they are watching him.
It would be possible to get him in 2026.”
“Of course, if they come in with a big offer this summer, it would also be possible to sign him early.”
The player has been compared to Toni Kroos, and seeing his underlying statistics it’s easy to see why:

Known for his exceptional passing range and composure on the ball, His performances have also earned him a place in Germany’s national team where he has 3 caps.
Liverpool’s interest in Stiller reflects their ongoing efforts to strengthen their midfield options under sporting director Richard Hughes
While Ryan Gravenberch and Alexis Mac Allister have excelled this season, concerns remain about squad depth and long-term planning for key positions.
Interestingly, he seems to have a similar profile to that of Martin Zubimendi, with Arne Slot making no secret of his appreciation for the Spaniard.
