After an injury-plagued 2023/24 campaign, he has struggled to consistently hit top form this season.

Now 31 years old and out of contract in little over a year’s time, Liverpool are expected to move for a successor for the Scotland international in the summer.

Robertson himself is aware of the growing transfer speculation, conceding that the Reds have ‘been linked with pretty much every left-back in the world, but insists his struggles have been exaggerated this season.
He has seen off the challenge of Kostas Tsimikas to remain first-choice under Slot, but only time will tell if he keeps his place heading into a new campaign.
Fulham’s Antonee Robinson is one player that the Reds have been linked with, with the USA international thriving as Robertson floundered back in December.
Every team brings you challenges and Fulham will do so also."
Robinson is by no means the only left-back Liverpool have been linked, as Robertson referenced, with Milos Kerkez of AFC Bournemouth one player of interest to the Reds.
However, club bosses are keeping tabs on a number of other potential options ahead of the forthcoming transfer window.
The Times reported earlier this week that the Cherries have slapped a £45m asking price on the Hungarian left-back, while reports elsewhere claim Fulham would demand north of £40m to be tempted into selling Robinson.
On the opposing flank, Jeremie Frimpong of Bayer Leverkusen would also command a similar fee, with the Netherlands international said to have a £40m release clause in his contract.
Liverpool are not in talks to sign the Dutchman as things stand, but with Trent Alexander-Arnold seemingly set to depart at the end of his contract, the Reds could well find themselves having to consider reinforcements at right-back as they continue to formulate their approach for the forthcoming summer transfer window.
It remains to be seen which full-backs Liverpool will actually move for this summer despite widespread transfer speculation.
But if the mooted fees are anything to go by, such business will not come cheap.
The Reds have not been shy of spending big in the past on the right player, but a look at their list of record signings and, unsurprisingly, you will see such a list is dominated by more offensive players.
It was only under Jurgen Klopp in recent years that Liverpool spent big at the other end of the pitch to bring in Virgil van Dijk (£75m), Alisson Becker (£65m) and Fabinho (£43m).
Prior to the trio’s arrivals, the Reds’ record signing in goal was Simon Mignolet (£9m), most expensive centre-back was Dejan Lovren (£20m) and priciest defensive midfielder was Javier Mascherano (£18.6m).
Meanwhile, since the arrival of the trio, Liverpool have agreed a £29m deal with Valencia to sign Giorgi Mamardashvili, and parted with £36m and £40m respectively to bring in Ibrahima Konate and Ryan Gravenberch.
And the mooted prices for Robinson and Kerkez seemingly suggest the current going-rate and market trends.
Alexander-Arnold’s likely Bosman exit will do little to enhance the global value of full-backs, but having never spent more than £18m on such a player before, that now looks set to change.

With Alexander-Arnold serving alongside Robertson, the Reds have not needed to recruit again for starting full-backs for the best part of a decade.
