Alexis Mac Allister has posted a picture on Instagram of his bruised eye after he was injured during Liverpool's 2-0 win over Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium this weekend.
During the first half of the game, when Omar Marmoush went through on goal and put the ball into the back of the net, the Egyptian forward landed on Mac Allister as the Argentine tried to make a challenge.
Down injured for a period, he played on and was on the field for the remainder of the game.
"When Marmoush scored the goal that was disallowed, he landed on me and I hit the floor," Liverpool midfielder Mac Allister told reporters.
Mac Allister and Ryan Gravenberch both impressed after a tricky couple of games for Liverpool and came out on top against the likes of Kevin De Bruyne and Phil Foden.
They will need to be similarly as physically capable when Newcastle United comes to Anfield midweek in another big fixture.
"It was [an important one]," Mac Allister said about the Manchester City game in general.
