Liverpool of course booked its place in the last-16 after finishing top of the league phase, winning seven of its eight games along the way.
Juventus was another big casualty, losing to PSV Eindhoven, while AC Milan crashed out against Feyenoord and Atalanta suffered a shock defeat against Club Brugge.
There are still plenty of big teams remaining though, and Liverpool now knows what its path to the final may look like.

It might be a long shot, but a reunion with Feyenoord in the final could then be on the cards for Slot
Unai Emery's side has already shown how big a threat it can be after this week's 2-2 draw at Villa Park.
Then, it Liverpool makes it to the semi-finals, it could face Arsenal, Real Madrid or Atletico Madrid, with any one of those providing a huge test in order to reach the final
