Liverpool restored their 12-point lead at the top of the Premier League table thanks to a victory over Everton.
The Reds won 1-0 in the Merseyside derby thanks to a second-half goal from Diogo Jota at Anfield.
After a goalless first half, Jota found the back of the net for the first time in the Premier League since January.
There are now just eight top-flight matches left to play this season and Liverpool need a maximum of 13 points to guarantee the Premier League title.

Arsenal continued their winning run, following on from the 1-0 win over Chelsea on the eve of the international break, with their 2-1 triumph over Fulham.
Mikel Arteta's side had a bittersweet night as the returning Bukayo Saka got on the scoresheet within seven minutes of his comeback.
However, there were further injury concerns when defender Gabriel was forced off with an apparent muscle injury during the first-half.
After Wednesday, Liverpool will have eight games to seal just their second Premier League title and English top-flight crown in over 30 years.
The Reds will be hoping to have their fate secured by the time they conclude the season at home to Crystal Palace on Sunday, May 25.
Before then, there is also the mouth-watering contest with Arsenal next month which could have a significant bearing on whether the Premier League trophy makes the short trip from Manchester or returns to North London for the first time in two decades.
